The Solo II High Resolution PET Scanner system provides a high image resolution.

It has specifically designed to provide a metabolic display of abnormal breast tissue.

The Solo II breast PET study is a supplement for conventional image procedures that help detecting breast cancer, being aware of its development stages, confirming the injury extent and making a more precise diagnosis.


The technology applied to the PEM Flex Solo II system includes the following:

  • Unique combination of soft immobilization, tip photonics and image processing. Positron Emission Mammography (PEM) allows improving the early detection of injuries as small as 1.6 mm
  • Previous injection to patients of a radioactive substance, (FDF) marker
  • Molecular image that can be used to have an exact representation of the suspicious tissue to improve breast cancer early detection, which helps to avoid unnecessary surgeries
  • The CMR Naviscan Solo II generates high-resolution images that other conventional mammography systems cannot produce
  • It provides the first PEM-guided breast biopsy, cleared by the FDA. It uses a Germanium source guide


Clinical Benefits

  • The system provides high sensitivity and specificity. It captures 90 of reference injuries.
  • It has a Positive Predictive Value (PPV) of 26%, higher then MRI; helping to improve secondary injury cases. This information is derived from recent results of a clinical survey sponsored by the National Health Institute (NHI) in the USA.
